Throughout my artistic career, my visual arts have always been inspired by mother earth. Nature has been the most powerful force to bring me peace in the midst of a fast paced culture. Placing my bare feet in cold creeks, or hot mud makes me feel security in a way no other has made me feel. When I am with mother, I am at home and I am safe. Nature inspires me because it is ever changing, evolving, transforming, just like me. I’ve grown up in a very safe knit, small town. Where I have access to forest trails like it’s my backyard. I have had the honor to watch this land evolve since I was just 5 years old, spending summer camps in the heart of the forest. I feel very inspired in my small community, watching the earth change, grow, and die through the seasons. I love noticing small changes, as my feet walk the same path every week. Curiosity sends me off trails, looking for mushrooms, bones, and sometimes I find myself lost in the woods that I believed I knew like the back of my hand, yet another thing I love about nature, it always humbles me. I would consider this specific ecosystem I am in, to be my home. However, my heart is craving so see all the beauty that this planet has to offer. How is mother changing, growing and evolving in other parts of the world. What is mother capable of that I just haven’t seen yet. My love for nature first started appearing in my art through sketches. I would spend a lot of time in the woods giving faces to all the trees and flowers. Eventually, these small sketches turned into painted canvas and clay sculptures. My pieces use a lot of recycled materials, that would of otherwise found its way into landfills. I also use real plant matter, which creates beautiful, delicate and unique works of art. Thank you for indulging in my website and not only exploring my art but also me aswell. Best wishes.
