- nature is god -
“nature is god”
said my grandfather once upon a time, as we walked familiar trails side by side, shoe-less
“nature is god”
and I never really understood what he meant until long after he had passed away.
and today I find god everywhere. I find god in the small snails that are never in a hurry, and I find god in booming thunder and hard rains. I find god in the streams, the rocks, the dirt in which I place my bare feet so gently. I find god in the flowers, the mushrooms that smile back at me. I find god in the song of a bird, the whispers of the wind and the charming cackle of the trees.
I find god in you, and in me.
this piece was created using a recycled mannequin bodice which I found laying outside a dumpster, layered with clay, acrylic paint and raw earth materials such as moss and dried flowers
